Distance and e-Learning Library

Leader in Teacher Education

The UEW Library provides many services which are especially suited to students who are taking CoDeL and ITECPD courses taught through distance learning. The CoDeL Library, which is a part of the UEW Library System, plays a pivotal role in delivering library services specifically tailored to support Distance and eLearning programmes. The University Libraries invite distance learners to use our resources and services.

What e-library services are available to Distance Education Students, Faculty and Staff?

Use the Library's online open access catalogue to find books, journal articles, magazines, and other material physically available in the UEW Library.

The UEW Library provides access to hundreds of thousands of online full-text e-books in a variety of subject areas. You can access e-books 24/7, wherever and whenever you need them on-campus or off-campus.

When you are on campus, you have automatic access if you are connected to the UEW local area network or WiFi.

However, one must login with their UEW student or staff account through Off-Campus Access when using own data on campus or remotely.

The UEW Library provides access to ProQuest Ebook Central, a subscription based database and several other credible Open Access Ebook databases and online academic databases:

Online Academic Databases:

An online academic database is a digital collection or repository of academic and scholarly resources, typically hosted on the internet. These databases are designed to provide easy access to a wide range of academic materials, including scholarly articles, research papers, books, conference proceedings, theses, and other educational resources.

The UEW Library has subscriptions to many online databases that you can use to find articles, books, statistics, data, and other resources necessary for your research.

Document Delivery & Intralibrary Loan (DD/ILL):

This service is available to all UEW distance students, faculty, and staff. This service allows registered users to borrow materials (books, photocopies of journal articles, etc.) not available in the CoDeL Library from other UEW Libraries.
