Print Books

Leader in Teacher Education

The UEW Library can boast of a comprehensive print book collection comprising textbooks, monographs, reference materials, and other academic publications to support the diverse information needs of students, faculty, and researchers. With over 130,000 volume, the print books collection covers a wide range of academic disciplines, from humanities and social sciences to natural sciences and education. These books serve as a valuable supplement to our digital resources and online databases, offering students, faculty and researchers tangible and immersive research experience.

Books are systematically organised by subject using the Library of Congress Classification scheme, allowing users to access information within our libraries with ease. This careful organisation empowers users to quickly locate the specific materials they need to support teaching, learning and research within the university and beyond. The Library maintains a user-friendly open access catalogue (WINNOPAC) to assist users to locate print materials in our collection.

Reserve Collections: The Reserve Collection is a special area of the Library where the Library places high demand items, typically required course readings, to ensure those items are highly accessible to students and faculty. Reserve items usually have a check out time of three (3) hours and do not leave the library building. The limited check out time ensures all students can access reserve items. The Reserve Collection is located at the Reader Services Section of the Osagyefo, North Campus and Ajumako Campus Libraries.

Africana Collections: The Africana Collection is a special area of the Library where the Library places publications written on Africa by Africans or other authors. The Africana Collection is part of the Reserve Collection of the Library.
