Abstract

This design-based research reports on the third and the fourth phases of a one-year study which tries to find out the validity and the practicality of Microsoft Encarta 2008 Math Tools and Derive 6 (MEMTD) software in the teaching and learning of Mathematics at colleges of education (CsE) in Ghana. Participants in the study were 6 Mathematics tutors and 2 teacher trainees from two CsE in Ghana. Interviews and observation were used as instruments to collect data. Constructivist theory for teaching and learning was used as theoretical framework. Findings showed that the use of MEMTD is practicable. The findings could inform management of colleges of education on how ICT workshops could be organized periodically for Mathematics tutors.
