Biography
My name is Dr. (Mrs.) Gloria Armah, a Senior lecturer in the Department of Mathematics Education of the University of Education, Winneba. I am from Saltpond in the Central Region of Ghana.
I am a teacher by profession, trained at Komenda Training College. I taught in the JSS for three (3) years and SSS for two (2) years after my Diploma and first degree in Mathematics and Integrated Science at the University of Education, Winneba.
After obtaining my Master of Philosophy in Mathematics Education at the University of Cape Coast, i was offered the opportunity to be a lecturer in the Department of the University of Education, Winneba, that is, the Mathematics Education Department in 2004.
I love my students so much and I'm very interested in their academic development. This i do by encouraging them to get the conceptual understanding of whatever they learn so as to be able to apply them in their daily lives. For me, we don't learn because of examinations but for life. I also take a keen interest in my students' social lives. I always want to serve as a mentor and a motivator to them, especially my special female mathematics students. One of my philosophies of teaching is "Teaching for Understanding".
