Research, Publications and Knowledge Exchange

CeRCCA seeks to translate research into accessible scholarly and public-facing outputs through academic publications, technical and policy-oriented reports, exhibitions, seminars, workshops and creative practice. Areas of publication development include assessments of the state of creative arts and culture in Ghana, technical and vocational education and training (TVET), and a CeRCCA Praxis & Papers series for artistic research and cultural studies.

The Journal of African Arts & Culture (JAAC; ISSN 2637-3610) is an open-access scholarly journal of the School of Creative Arts, providing an interdisciplinary platform for research and critical dialogue across African performing and visual arts.

CeRCCA also organises international conferences as part of its knowledge-exchange mandate, bringing scholars, artists, cultural practitioners, policymakers and creative industry leaders into critical dialogue. Recent examples include the Creative Arts and Culture Research Conference 2025 (17–19 March 2025), held under the theme “Reimagining Creative Arts and Culture in a Changing World,” and the Creative Arts and Culture International Research Conference (CACIRC) 2026 (31 March–2 April 2026), held under the theme “SANKOFAISM: Unearthing, Unlearning/Learning, and Uplifting Sustainable Creative Arts and Cultural Practices and Methods.” These conferences exemplify the Centre’s commitment to interdisciplinary exchange, cultural sustainability and international collaboration in the creative arts.

  Investigate responsible applications of digital media, artificial intelligence and interactive technologies in arts education, creative practice and cultural documentation.

  Connect research with design practice, professional development, enterprise and the wider creative economy.

  Collaborate with schools, cultural practitioners and communities through workshops, exhibitions, public lectures and outreach.

  Support collaborative projects, research mentoring, fellowship opportunities, funding applications and interdisciplinary networks.
