UEW Hosts Transformative Conference on AI and Creative Arts

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has successfully concluded the 2025 Creative Arts and Culture Conference, which focused on the theme, “Re-imagining Creative Arts and Culture in a Changing World”.

The three-day event brought distinguished scholars, artists, and researchers to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and creative arts.

UEW Celebrates International Day of Mathematics with Focus on Arts and Creativity

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) marked the 2025 International Day of Mathematics with a grand celebration, highlighting the intersection of mathematics, arts, and creativity.

The event, organised by the Department of Mathematics Education in collaboration with the Mentoring the Next Generation initiative, brought together academics, students, and mathematics enthusiasts to explore the beauty of mathematics beyond numbers and equations.

Prof. Esther Yeboah Danso-Wiredu Elected UEW’s First Female Pro-Vice-Chancellor

Prof. Esther Yeboah Danso-Wiredu has emerged as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor-elect of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), awaiting approval by the UEW Council. She will be the first substantive female Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the university.

The highly competitive election, across the university’s campuses, saw Prof. Esther Danso-Wiredu narrowly defeat her closest contender, Prof. Imurana Awaisu Braimah, by 13 votes. The contest also included Prof. Emmanuel Osei Sarpong.

UEW-ICTE Department Explores Partnership with eTranzact Ghana Ltd

The Department of Information and Communication Technology Education (ICTE) of the Faculty of Science Education (FSE) at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has taken steps towards bridging academia and industry by engaging eTranzact Ghana Ltd, the Fintech Company of the Year 2024.

The primary objective of this engagement on Wednesday, 19th March, 2025, was to discuss potential opportunities for students within the Department of ICT Education.
