Description

The programme centres on the physical and applied sciences and it is designed to equip the degree holder with the knowledge, skills and attitudes required in a theoretical and practical teaching of science and the applied sciences in the basic, secondary and post-secondary schools.

Entry Requirement

A: Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) and West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) Holders

The general requirements for admission of SSSCE and WASSCE holders to the programme are three (3) credit passes or better in three (3) core subjects and three (3) credit passes or better in the three (3) relevant elective science subjects as follows:

» Credit passes in three core subjects (English, Mathematics and Integrated Science)

» Credit passes in three electives (Physics, chemistry, Mathematics and Biology) at either WASSCE or SSSCE

» Five Credit passes at G.C.E ‘O’ Level including English and Mathematics and three passes in Physics, chemistry, Mathematics and Biology at G.C.E Advanced Level

» HND Holders in subjects relevant to the programme who have earned a minimum of second lower division or credit may be admitted to level 200

» Applicant with Diploma from Nursing or Midwifery College who are registered nurses or midwives may admitted to level 200

» Applicants with 2-year diploma in subjects relevant to the programme, from recognised institutions may be admitted to Level 100.
