Prof. (Mrs.) Rebecca Atchoi Akpanglo-Nartey officially assumed office as the Principal of the College of Languages Education, Ajumako. The transition took place at a handing-over ceremony on Monday, 30th September 2024, following the expiration of Prof. Dominic Kweku Danso Mensah’s four-year term.

This transition follows a rigorous selection process by the University’s Governing Council. In line with the University's Statutes, the Council constituted a Search Committee to identify a suitable candidate for the position. The Committee, after completing its task, recommended Prof. Akpanglo-Nartey, whose appointment was subsequently endorsed at a Governing Council meeting on Friday, 13th September 2024.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual, led the University’s Management team to oversee the handing-over.

During the ceremony, Prof. Mensah recounted notable milestones achieved under his leadership. These included:  increasing the number of professors in the College from two to eight; advancing the construction of the Faculty Block, which had stalled for years; accrediting and operationalising the College Clinic; and revamping the College Restaurant to generate appreciable revenue.

Prof. Mensah expressed gratitude to the College Management team for their support and encouraged his successor to focus on her mandate to elevate the College’s reputation.
