Ghartey Hall Freshmen Urged to be Resolute
The Management of Ghartey Hall in collaboration with the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs welcomed all affiliated freshmen to the University and the Hall on Wednesday, 25th September, 2019 at the South Assembly Hall, Winneba.
The Ag. Dean, Student Affairs, Dr. Ernest Kwasi Amponsah, in his address, urged the freshmen to be resolute learners to accomplish their desired goals of coming to the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).
He informed the freshmen to regard their admission into the University of Education, Winneba as a privilege which should not be underestimated since huge numbers of people applied but not all were fortunate enough to be admitted. He charged them to strive for success.
“Count your coming here as a privilege, be meticulous students and endeavour to participate in all University activities so that you will be accustomed to this noble institution,” he advised the freshmen.
Dr. Amponsah went on to entreat them to enjoy University life while they study hard.
The Hall Manageress, Ms. Patricia Appiah-Boateng, under whose auspices the ceremony was held, admonished the freshmen and the continuing students present to respect authority and exhibit good behaviour to everyone, especially to the hall staff. She encouraged them to make good friends and work collaboratively to build their competencies and skills around different areas apart from their areas of study.
The Vice-President, Ghartey Hall, Mr. Daniel Appah, in his welcome address, implored members of the Hall to be patriotic to lift the name and veracity of the Hall higher.
The ceremony, which afforded the freshmen the chance to familiarise themselves with each other as well as their executives, saw the presence of His Royal Majesty, Emmanuel Annor (Chief Garvian); Hall Assistants; Ms. Deborah Essiful; Ms. Regina Oduro Ankomah; Mr. John Kennedy Impraim; Mr. Acyaye-Pratt; Ms. Hope Anderson; and Mrs. Henrietta Quansah as well as Ms. Mary Anaman and continuing and fresh students.
