Biography
LINDA COBBAH is a Home Economics professional with Twenty-Four years’ teaching experience. She was born on the 23rd December, 1978 to Mr. Kojo Cobbah and Madam Sarah Paintsil from Gomoa Achiasi and Gomoa Afransi respectively all in the Central of Ghana making her a typical Fante and a Ghanaian. She had her basic education at Gomoa Achiase and Secondary education at Apam Secondary school now SHS. She was trained as a professional Home Economics Teacher at O.L.A College of Education, Cape Coast. She had her Bachelor of Education and Master of Philosophy degrees in Home Economics Education (Food and Nutrition) at the University of Education, Winneba. She has just enrolled on a PhD Food Science and Technology at the University for Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana and is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Integrated Home Economics Education (Food and Nutrition Unit) – University of education, Winneba.
She has a strong desire and passion to facilitate and conduct research in Vocational and technical field with emphasis on Food and Nutrition and other related areas such as recipe and food product development, entrepreneurship, nutrition, health, food security and family meal management. Her passion for self-reliance motivates her to organise exhibitions on varied themes including entrepreneurship, recipe development and restoration of indigenous Ghanaian dishes. She has attended and presented papers in both local and international conferences and has a number of articles published online in the field of Food and Nutrition. She has also published course books: Food and Nutrition Practical Manual and Fundamentals of Entrepreneurial Skills for Schools and Colleges. She has been a Food and Nutrition examiner (both Theory and Praxis) and an adjudicator for over a decade. She is a Facilitator for Community-Based Skill Training Workshops; Diet Related Health Awareness Community Outreach Programme and a regular guest on Diet Diary on Windy Bay (a Community Radio) in the Effutu municipality Winneba.
By her dint of hard work, she was awarded Best Lecturer in the Department of Integrated Home Economics Education a Nominee for Vice Chancellor's University- Wide Excellence Award of the University of Education, Winneba. She is the Patroness for the Ghana National Association of Teachers on Campus (GNATOC), UEW Chapter. Linda’s future professional and academic strides are hinged on her passion for Food and Nutrition, entrepreneurship, self-reliance, economic and environmental sustainability.
