Mission

The Mission of the Department is to train self-reliant and competent professional Home Economics teachers for all levels of education, as well as conduct research, disseminate knowledge and contribute to educational policy and development in the area of Home Economics in Ghana.

Vision:

To be among global giants in Home Economics Education, Community service, Research and Knowledge dissemination.

Goals

The program aims at acquainting students with the underlying theories and principles in Home Economics, the methods of teaching and research in order to develop their analytical abilities in solving problems in Home Economics. Students will be guided to develop students’ competencies in composite knowledge and relevant pedagogical skills in Home Economics for efficiency in the world of work. The program further seeks to groom students with the capabilities to provide community extension services in basic Home Economics principles and practices to improve the general quality of life.
