UEW Scholars Champion Regional Development Through ASAF Project
Scholars from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), under the auspices of the African Students and Alumni Forum (ASAF), spearheaded the “Building Bridges 2025” professional development project in Sunyani.
The two-part event, held on Thursday, 25th June 2025, took place at the Tyco City Hotel and the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR). The theme of the event was “Fostering Inclusivity and Collaboration through ASAF Ghana’s Professional Development Approach for the Northern Zone.”
SCMS-UEW Receives Book Donation on African Communication Perspectives
The School of Communication and Media Studies (SCMS) at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has received five copies of the book “Communication and Social Change in Africa: Selected Case Studies.”
The donation, made on Thursday, 3rd July 2025, was spearheaded by Dr. Theodora Dame Adjin-Tettey, one of the book’s co-editors and a passionate advocate for accessible African scholarship.
UEW Registrars' Seminar Explores TfD and AI to Transform the Institution
The Registrar’s Department of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), on Wednesday, 25th June, 2025, held its 7th Monthly Seminar at the Registrar’s Conference Room, North Campus, UEW.
The event featured two presentations that underscored UEW’s strategic vision to harness both cultural heritage and emerging technologies for sustainable impact.
UEW Theatre Arts Students Drive Change in Gomoa Akramang
In a vibrant display of creativity and community service, students from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), brought Gomoa Akramang to life with a theatrical performance aimed at addressing urgent sanitation issues in the community.
The outreach, organised by the Department of Theatre Arts of the School of Creative Arts, UEW, combined drama, poetry, choreography and cultural dance to promote public hygiene and environmental awareness.
UEW Enhances Academic Resources with Generous Book Donation
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has received a notable donation of books worth over £33,000 to enhance the institution’s teaching and learning resources.
The donation, spearheaded by Emeritus Professor El Anatsui, a renowned artist and academic, highlights his strong connection to UEW, where he began his teaching career when it was still known as the Specialist Training College.
African Studies Week Celebration
The Centre for African Studies at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) warmly invites the university community and the general public to its African Studies Week Celebration under the theme:“Educating the Young African: Reclaiming African Knowledge Systems.”This celebration forms part of the Centre’s efforts to increase public visibility and promote African-centered academic discourse. The event, organised by the Department of ICT Education, brought together top industry leaders, tech innovators and students in a powerful call for a digital renaissance across Ghana’s educational landscape.
