Biography
Brief Profile
Ishmael Kwabla Hlovor (PhD) works as Lecturer at the Department of Political Science Education of the University of Education, Winneba. Before joining UEW, he was a Research Fellow at the Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance (DAPQA) of the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He was also affiliated to the Centre for African and International Studies at the University of Cape Coast. He also served as an adjunct lecturer of international relations and public administration at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). His areas of specialization are climate change politics and governance, governance and politics in Africa, border governance and security in Africa, regionalism and regional integration in Africa, migration and integration, Ghana’s foreign policy and international relations (geopolitics), internationalization and quality assurance in higher education in Africa. He obtained both first degree (B.A. Hons.) and master’s degree in political science from the Department of Political Science of the University of Ghana in 2008 and 2013, respectively. He also obtained a PhD in International Politics from Central China Normal University in the Peoples Republic of China in 2017. He has over 10 publications in referred journals and 3 conference papers. He is currently working on two related book projects titled ‘Contemporary issues in African international relations’ and ‘Capitalism and regional integration in Africa amidst global (dis) order’. He has research collaboration with scholars both within and outside Ghana.
