Biography
Gideon Kwaku Minua Ampofo is a Research Fellow at the Institute for Educational Research and Innovation Studies, University of Education Winneba. He holds a PhD in Applied Economics and a Master’s degree in Public Administration. His research focuses on development economics, education policy, social protection, and applied econometrics, with particular interest in natural resource governance, educational financing, learning outcomes, welfare interventions, and evidence-based policy analysis in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Dr. Ampofo has extensive experience in policy-oriented research, including the design and implementation of large-scale data collection systems using digital platforms such as Kobotoolbox. His scholarly work explores themes such as the resource curse hypothesis, Dutch Disease dynamics, public debt, educational equity, safety net programmes, and sustainable development. He is also actively involved in interdisciplinary research on educational innovation, technology integration, and the role of policy interventions in improving social and economic outcomes.
At IERIS, he contributes to research, policy analysis, project implementation, and institutional collaborations aimed at advancing educational development and innovation in Ghana and beyond.
