Biography
Enoch F. Sam is an Associate Professor of Transport Geography. He has over 11 years of experience researching and delivering social research into practice in Traffic safety, Public transport safety management, Traffic behaviour of vulnerable road users, Traffic enforcement and policing, and Sustainable urban mobility planning. His research utilises mixed methods research approaches, though he is quantitatively inclined. He continues to deliver high-impact projects and consultancy services in sustainable urban mobility, traffic safety, and other transport-related phenomena.
Prof Sam's research relates to and contributes to the following sustainable development goals (SDGs): Goal 1: No Poverty, 3: Good Health and Well-being, 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities and 13: Climate Action.
Current Projects/Grants
- Co-Consultant- Barriers to full enforcement of environmental regulations to manage air pollution in Ghana (Clean Air Fund Systematic review of key factors which constrain full enforcement of environmental regulations and laws in Ghana and limit prevention of air pollution on roads). Donor: Clean Air Fund (CAF). Duration: April 2024- To Date
- Country Lead/Partner: Safe system for radical improvement of road safety in low-and middle-income African countries (AfroSAFE). Donor: European Union under the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme). Duration: 4 years- September 2022- August 2026
