Our Units
Four units. One mandate.
Each unit of the Directorate carries a distinct responsibility — together they form a connected system for embedding gender equity across UEW.
Training & Capacity Building
Builds the conditions that allow stakeholders to develop knowledge and skills, supports policy formation, and provides effective resource management methods. Promotes institutional interaction through feedback to enhance responsive university governance.
Mentoring & Career Development
Provides guidance and support for staff and students to develop their careers. The institutionalised mentoring programme grooms newly recruited Senior Members in research and career advancement.
Scholarships & Fundraising
Seeks opportunities to provide financial aid and scholarships to students facing financial or personal hardships, as well as those excelling in specific fields, to positively impact their stay at the University.
Research, Policy & Publications
Provides leadership in building and maintaining research and publication capacity. Encourages collaboration, supports research initiatives, organises seminars and publishes findings on appropriate platforms.
Satellite Campus Gender Offices
Satellite campuses host Gender Departments responsible for implementing UEW's Gender Policy. Gender Officers replicate the Directorate's approved activities locally, ensuring consistent equity standards across Winneba and Ajumako.
