Biography
I am a lecturer at the Chemistry Education Department of the University of Education, Winneba. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Science Education with a major in Chemistry at the University of Education, Winneba, Ghana. I then pursued further studies at the Central China Normal University (CCNU) in Wuhan, China, where I earned my Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Polymer Chemistry.
My research interests primarily focus on sustainable solutions to environmental challenges posed by conventional plastics. I'm particularly passionate about developing biodegradable polymer materials as alternatives to traditional plastics, aiming to mitigate their harmful impact on ecosystems. Additionally, I research the recycling of conventional plastics, exploring innovative methods to reduce plastic waste and promote a circular economy. I am also interested in sustainable synthesis methodologies, mainly via photocatalysis, which harnesses light energy to drive chemical reactions, minimizing the use of harmful chemicals and reducing environmental footprint.
I'm committed to educating young minds to understand the mysteries of Chemistry. In collaboration with the American Chemical Society and other sponsors, I organize outreach programs to ignite passion for Chemistry in children and inspire the scientists of tomorrow.
