Vice-Chancellor’s Welcome Message to Fresh Students

Vice-Chancellor’s Welcome Message to Fresh Students

I have the distinct honour and pleasure of welcoming our cherished freshmen and women to the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), for the 2022–2023 academic year.

You are among the fortunate few to have gained admission to our prestigious institution with a special mandate to train the right calibre of professional educators needed to drive and steer the country's development agenda toward rapid economic and social progress. On behalf of Management, I congratulate you for emerging victorious in the competitive selection process.

Let me reassure you that your decision to enroll at UEW is strategic and professional, because the knowledge and ideas you will pick up during the course of your studies will undoubtedly equip you to become competent, result-driven, and accountable individuals ready to contribute your quota to efforts to transform and impact society.

I implore each of you to take full advantage of the fresh opportunities our university is providing to realise your academic goals. I further exhort you to fully utilise all of the resources offered here to achieve your academic objectives.

Finally, let me remind everyone that there's a resurgence of the pandemic, and therefore, adherence to the COVID-19 safety protocols, which have been our saving grace -- wearing face masks, washing and sanitising hands regularly, maintaining physical immunity by exercising regularly and eating healthily, as well as keeping decent social distances -- should be the way to go. Do not hesitate to alert the appropriate authorities if you feel unwell at any point. The University Clinic and other affiliate offices and departments are ready to provide you with the needed support.

I have no doubt that as you adjust to your new academic surroundings, you will appreciate the traditions of friends and family and will ultimately be happy you opted to pursue your higher academic dreams here at the University of Education, Winneba. I wish you the very best in your stay and studies.

Thank you.
