UEW Hosts ESICD Hubs Innovation Grants Final Pitch Competition
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Friday, 19th September, 2025, brought together some of Ghana’s brightest young innovators for the Final Pitch Competition of the Enterprise Support and Incubation Curriculum Development (ESICD) Hubs Innovation Grants at the Students Centre Seminar Room III.
FHASHEE Receives Student Donations to Enhance Practical Training
The Faculty of Health, Allied Sciences, and Home Economics Education (FHASHEE) at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) received a donation of modern equipment on Tuesday, 23rd September, 2025.
This equipment was donated by final-year Clothing and Textiles students and Level 200 Integrated Home Economics students to enhance hands-on training at various departments within the faculty.
UEW Art Students Transform “Waste to Worth” in Striking 46-Foot Installation
On Thursday, 18th September, 2025, the forecourt of the Students Centre at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) was transformed into a vibrant art space as three final-year students of the Department of Art Education unveiled a monumental 46-foot installation titled “Waste to Worth.”
The outdoor display which drew faculty, curators, students and visitors, explored themes of environmental sustainability and cultural identity while challenging prevailing attitudes towards waste.
UEW Unveils Ebenezer Mensah’s Cultural Card Game Project
The Department of Art Education at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), on Tuesday, 16th September, 2025, witnessed a significant moment in student creativity and cultural innovation when it formally unveiled “What if We Had Our Own Spade Card Game,” an inventive project by final-year student, Ebenezer Mensah.
QAD Commends Excellence in 3D Art Among UEW Creative Arts Students
The Quality Assurance Directorate (QAD) of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has commended Level 200 students of the Department of Creative Arts and Design Education for their creativity and innovation in 3-Dimensional Art Production.
This was during QAD’s monitoring of the end-of-second-semester examination held on Thursday, 18th September, 2025, at the New Mirror Room, Central Campus.
UEW Appoints Mrs. Ekua Abedi-Boafo as New Registrar
The Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has appointed Mrs. Ekua Abedi-Boafo as the substantive Registrar.
Her appointment takes effect from 1st October 2025. In accordance with the University’s Statutes, a Search Committee submitted its report to the University Governing Council which subsequently appointed Mrs. Ekua Abedi-Boafo as Registrar.
UEW Explores Partnership with IT for Youth Ghana to Enhance Digital Skills
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Tuesday, 16th September, 2025, received a delegation from IT for Youth Ghana to discuss opportunities for collaboration on information technology initiatives aimed at empowering students and strengthening the University’s capacity in digital skills training.

The Planning Committee of the 9th International Multidisciplinary Conference for Postgraduate Students (IMCfPS) on Friday, 12th September 2025, held a short ceremony at the North Campus Mini-Conference Room of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) to officially climax this year’s conference.
UEW Student Designs Wayfinding System for University Hospital
A final-year Graphic Design student at the Department of Art Education of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has developed and donated a wayfinding system to the University Hospital to enhance navigation for staff, patients and visitors.
