The Centre for School and Community Science and Technology Studies (SACOST) at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with InvoTech STEM Center at the Institute for Educational Research and Innovation Studies (IERIS) Conference Room, on Friday, 24th January, 2025.

This collaboration intends to foster the development and implementation of innovative joint educational initiatives that will enhance STEM learning across various educational levels in the country.

One of the critical components of the MoU is the focus on training and empowering a dedicated volunteer workforce. This initiative is designed to support the enhancement of STEM education in schools and community settings. Volunteers will receive specialised training to effectively engage students and educators, creating a more dynamic and interactive learning environment that fosters a love for science and technology.

The MoU also outlines a framework for executing collaborative projects that utilise SACOST-UEW’s STEM education expertise alongside the practical applications promoted by InvoTech STEM Center. This synergy is expected to lead to major projects that can serve as models for other educational institutions across the country.

The focus on grant sourcing will allow for the financing of innovative projects to address local and national challenges, ensuring that STEM education is not only theoretical but also applicable to real-world situations.

As the signing concludes, both institutions are poised to embark on this exciting journey together, marking a pivotal moment in the evolution of STEM education in Ghana. Students and educators alike can anticipate a future enriched with resources, opportunities, and collaboration that promises to unlock the vast potential inherent in Ghana’s youth.

The partnership between SACOST-UEW and InvoTech is set to begin implementation immediately, with several initiatives planned for the coming months, aiming to make a notable impact in local communities and educational institutions.
