Department of Early Childhood Education Organises First Aid Training

The Department of Early Childhood Education, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), in collaboration with the Childhood Care Education Students’ Association of Ghana (CCESAG), has organised a workshop on first aid management at the Faculty of Educational Studies, North Campus, UEW.   

The goal of the training was to give early childhood student teachers the knowledge and practical skills they need to administer basic first aid in the classroom and other school settings when accidents occur.

The participants were educated on common first aid myths, the value of first aid knowledge for early childhood educators, and the significance of saving lives, halting deterioration, and promoting recovery.

Additionally, the participants took part in practical exercises on the aforementioned topics. They expressed delight at having acquired training on first-aid delivery abilities to save the lives of children in early childhood education facilities. The practical sessions had a total of 451 participants, including 21 from various Departments within the faculty.

Resource persons for the workshop were Mr. Simon Kormla Donkor, Ms. Hannah Araba Hanson and Ms. Esinu Adzo Agozie.  

Also present at the workshop were the Head of the Department of Early Childhood Education, Dr. Michael Subbey; Ag. Patroness, Dr. Praise Salome Otami; President of CCESAG, Mr. George Dzamposu; and Lecturer, Music and Dance Education, Mr. Justice Adjerakor.
