Abstract

This study seeks to compare the notion of absurdity as perceived in Les Conquérants
written by André Malraux and Vol de nuit written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Based on the
Existentialism, we highlighted, on one hand, the underlining factors of the notion of absurdity in
each of the two books. And, on the other, the study tries to establish the similarities and differences
in the conception of this notion in the books aforementioned. Through their books, the two authors
established some factors that cause the absurdity of human existence which in turn leads to the
quest of action as a solution to those existential problems. In view of this, André Malraux and
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry present some similarities and differences in their conception of the
absurdity existence of human and what causes it.
