Aims
The programme aims at upgrading the knowledge and skills of Biology Educators. This will enhance their teaching methodologies as well as enhancing their biology classroom management practices and upgrading the content knowledge and skills of Biology graduates
Programme Objectives
The objectives of the Programme are as follows:
- The programme is designed to equip students with the requisite theoretical knowledge and practical skills to enable them cope with the challenges of planning, monitoring and evaluating Biology Education programmes;
- The programme also seeks to enable students demonstrate skills of being competent Biology teachers at the pre-tertiary and tertiary levels;
- It further intends to help students exhibit an understanding of the psychology of teaching Biology;
- It offers students the opportunity to improve upon the understanding of key concepts in curriculum policy formulation and curriculum development in Biology Education

Entry Requirement
Applicants possessing the following qualifications may be admitted to the Master of Education in Biology Education programme:
- A good first degree in Biology Education from any recognised university
- A good first degree in Biology (with an education component) from a recognised university.
- A good first degree in Biology or related area such as Botany, Zoology or Environmental Science from a recognised university with a postgraduate diploma in education or its equivalence.
Note: All applicants will undergo a selection interview.
