Vice-Chancellor's Christmas Message to University Community
I bring you the warmest of the season's greetings. In a special way, I extend my warm wishes to our partners and other key stakeholders, who form an integral part of our connected university community.
This time of the year is an opportunity for reflection. My Dear friends, at the turn of the year, divine providence restored me and some colleagues to the university and entrusted us with a duty to serve you in the management of the university. We sought your support in this endeavour and you indeed did not let us down. We have come a long way because of the tremendous support of people like you, our industrious students, dedicated staff, and other members of our community. At this moment, we have every cause to celebrate our collective accomplishments.
We have not relented in our desire to reconcile and heal our university for greater impact. A lot has been done in this direction, but we're of the firm conviction that much more can be done to reach out to everyone. In the year under review, our sports team brought us a lot of joy with their exploits both on the African continent and at home during the GUSA games. Our contribution to our nation, inspired by our mandate to train competent professional teachers for all levels of education, was second to none, with UEW producing the National Best Teacher Award winner in Ms. Stella Gyimaah Larbi.
Beloved, I acknowledge that the year 2022 came with its fair share of challenges, both at the students' front and in our collective stride to steer our university toward the path of Excellence. By the grace of God and with your special support, we stood together, working side-by-side to weather the storm. We pulled through on the back of your sweat, dedication, and innovations.
In the year 2023, I look forward to greater laurels and seeing every one of you better, healthier, and with a stronger resolve to unleash the touch of Excellence to propel our university to achieve its vision and mission.
On behalf of the Governing Council and the Management Team, I wish to sincerely thank you all for your excellent support in 2022.
We wish you a blessed, cheerful, and auspicious Christmas celebration and festive period. May the season bring along many more joys and cheers to you and your families.
Warm wishes on Christmas to you all! Merry Christmas and a prosperous year!
