About DRID

Since

The Directorate of Research, Innovation and Development (DRID) at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), was established in 2020 following the restructuring of the Externally Funded Projects Office (EFPO), which had operated since November 2007 with support from the Carnegie Corporation of New York.

The Directorate functions under the Office of the Vice-Chancellor and serves as the main unit responsible for managing research and administering grants from both internal and external sources. It also builds the capacities of staff, faculty, and groups to prepare project grant proposals. It oversees the development and implementation of research policies, ensuring that the University’s Faculties, Departments, Institutes, and Centres carry out research activities aligned with UEW’s strategic plan and research agenda.
