About DRID
The Directorate of Research, Innovation and Development (DRID) at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) was established in 2020, following the restructuring of the Externally Funded Projects Office (EFPO), which had been in operation since November 2007 when it was established with the support from the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
The Directorate operates under the office of the Vice-Chancellor. It is the main body responsible for managing research and all grants which have been sourced from internal and external donor sources. The Directorate is also the body in charge of overseeing and coordinating the development of research policies for the University and ensuring that Faculties, Departments, Research Institutes and Centres of the University conduct research in line with the University’s strategic plan and research agenda.
