UEW Vice-Chancellor Inaugurates IERIS Advisory Board
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Mawutor Avoke, has inaugurated a nine-member advisory board to oversee the operations of the Institute for Educational Research and Innovation Studies (IERIS), UEW.
The board members are the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Andy Ofori-Birikorang; Director of IERIS-UEW, Prof. Ephraim Avea Nsoh; Ag. Registrar of UEW, Mrs. Wilhelmina Tete-Mensah; and Deputy Registrar of IERIS-UEW, Mr. Collins Owusu-Ansah.
Other members are Representative, National Teaching Council (NTC), Ms. Grace Agyeman Duah; Representative, National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), Dr. Mercy Nyamekye; Representative, Ghana Education Service (GES), Rev. Bismark Akandi; Representative, Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Mr. James Andy Kojo Nunoo, and Representative, SRIM-MoE, Mr. Edward Dogbey.
Prof. Avoke beseeched the board members to work hard to support IERIS in achieving its objectives and vision set forth in the UEW Statutes, 2020.
Members reaffirmed their commitment to helping the Institute carry out its mission.
The board used the occasion to hold its maiden meeting.
Prof. Avea Nsoh presented the planned activities of the Institute for the year 2022-2023 and Research Plan for 2022-2025 for the Board’s consideration and approval.
The Institute is expected to forge close collaboration with industry and other stakeholders in its quest to achieve its vision and mission.
