Management Gives Unprecedented Farewell to 2018 Retirees
Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) organised a remarkable send-off party for the 2018 retirees for their superb contribution towards the success of the University on Friday, 28th September, 2018 at the Senior Members and Staff Association (SEMSA) Club House, North Campus, Winneba.

The party which saw splendid live performances from the School of Creative Arts had in attendance the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni; Registrar, Surv. Paul Osei-Barima Esq.; Ag. Finance Officer, Mr. Bruno B. B. Chirani; University Chaplain, Rev. Dr. Alexander Edwards; Director, Institute for Distance and e-Learning, Prof. Francis Owusu-Mensah; Dean, School of Creative Arts, Dr. Patrique deGraft Yankson; Dean, Faculty of Science Education, Prof. Ruby Hanson and others.
In his Remarks, the Vice-Chancellor promised Management would ensure that the University will continue to provide free health care to all retirees. He therefore, urged them to visit University Clinic every time they felt ill.

In an interview with the Head, Employee Relations Department, Division of Human Resource, Mrs. Irene-Michelle Ofosu-Behome emphasised that the retirees had contributed greatly to the transformation of the University and were worthy to be appreciated by Management as well as the entire University community.
“We appreciate their services, their contributions towards the development of this institution. In fact, some have worked for over 25 years. So, we are most grateful to them. We thank them for the services rendered to the University and we pray that as they retire, the good Lord will grant them the strength to enjoy their retirement.” She said.
Retirees being honoured with citations
The 18 retirees, were honoured with citations and assorted items each from the coffers of the UEW.
They were former Dean, School of Graduate Studies, Prof. George Kankam (24 years 10 months); Senior Lecturers, Mrs. Juliana Boateng Ohene (16 years); Mr. Victor Francis Darbah (23 years 10 months); Mr. Isaac Opoku-Mensah (24 years 9 months); Lecturers, Mr. Kwamivi Zewuze Adzraku (17 years 10 months); Mr. Skido Sullman Seidu Achulo (11 years 3 months); Principal Research Assistant, Mr. Ebenezer Asante (11 years 3 months); Chief Library Assistant, Mr. Roger Senyo Byll-Cataria (20 years 8 months) and Administrative Assistant, Ms. Christiana Jennifer Mensah (25 years 10 months)
Others were Assistant Transport Officer, Mr. Isaac Bernard Kwesi Arthur (16 years 5 months); Hall Assistant, Mr. Isaac Kofi Ewusie (23 years 11 months); Assistant Security Officer, Mr. Peter Amo-Baah (12 years 11 months); Chief Driver, Mr. Kojo Asare (25 years 11 months); Senior Departmental Assistant, Ms. Rose Archer (23 years 11 months); Senior Headmen and women, Mr. Joseph Kweku Awuah (20 years 9 months); Mr. Jacob Hanson (18 years 8 months); Ms. Comfort Quarm (21 years 8 months); Ms. Gloria Inkoom (25 years 10 months).
