The Faculty of Agriculture Education organized a 2-day retreat programme to repackage the B.Sc. Agriculture Education programme and develop other new market driven programmes among others, at Adom Upscale Hotel, Mampong-Ashanti on the 5th and 6th July, 2017. 

Prof. J. K. Kagya-Agyemang, Ag. Principal of the College of Agriculture Education of the University of Education, Winneba, in his opening address expressed his strong interest in the work of the Faculty and most importantly to see the Faculty of Agriculture education grow. He hoped that at the end, the retreat meets its primary objective of producing comprehensive curricula tailored to meet NCTE and NAB standards to enable the College compete with international programmes run by top notch universities around the world for the betterment of our students, UEW and Ghana in general.The speech was read on behalf of the Ag. Principal by Ag. Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Education, Prof. S.Y. Annor.

The aim of the retreat was for the Faculty to respond quickly to changing market needswhich stem from not producing enough curricula to meet new market trends. He advised the Faculty members to try as much as possible to make the programme competency based.

Prof S.Y. Annor,Ag. Dean of the Faculty in his address said that, the retreat will help repackage the B.Sc. Agriculture Education programme to meet the changing market needs and also make the curricula competency based. He further tasked the Heads of Departmentto review the programme in their respective department and if possible work on introducing new competency based academic programmes to enhance the image of the College.
