Eleven New York University Students Visit UEW

Eleven undergraduate and graduate students from New York University (NYU) under the leadership of Dr. Carol Anne Spreen, Associate Professor of International Education, at the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development have paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of UEW, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful Broni.

The visit is as a result of a collaborative agreement between the Ghanaian Institute for the Future of Teaching and Education (GIFTED) Project (UEW) New York University (NYU), University of Minnesota (UMN), and Mujeres por Africa.

The group, together with the Head, Department of Basic Education, Dr. Sakina Acquah and the Examinations Officer, Department of Home Economics Education, Mrs. Priscilla Adjei who are the Co-Principal Investigators of the project in UEW and six fellows of the GIFTED had a brief discussion with the Vice-Chancellor.

The GIFTED Project began in June 2013. It is a partnership among UEW, NYU, UMN, and Mujeres por Africa with sponsorship from Banco Santander and Newman's Own Foundation. Its mission is to strengthen the leadership capacity and the visibility of women in education as leaders within the Ghanaian education system.
