Academic Heads Undergo ITS and Accreditation Issues Workshop
The Division of Human Resource (UEW) in collaboration with the Information Technology Services Directorate and the Planning Unit, has held a four-day intensive training workshop for all Deans, Directors, Heads of Department and lecturers in the University.
The workshop took place at the Winneba and the Ajumako Campuses respectively.
The purpose of the workshop was to sharpen lecturers’ skills to enable them to key in their results smoothly onto the Information Technology System (ITS) at the end of every academic year; assist participants to appreciate what is required of them on the ITS and to allow participants to undergo practical hands-on training on the process of entering students’ results. Additionally, the training exposed participants to the strategies involved in marks entry for students using the available tools on ITS.
Speaking on behalf of the Registrar, Surv. Paul Osei-Barima Esq, at the opening of the workshop, the Deputy Registrar, Division of Human Resource, Mrs. Deborah Afful, welcomed all participants to the training session.
She explained that the workshop was planned by the University Management based on feedback received from the various faculties in the University concerning the ITS and accreditation issues.
She urged the participants to utilise the opportunity to upgrade their skills for the betterment of UEW in building together with the agenda of the University. “Besides, it is also important for your own professional development,” she stressed. Mrs. Afful wished participants a successful training session.
Topics for the training included; Assessments Upload, Course Allocation, Assessment Criteria setup and Accreditation Issues.
The workshop was facilitated by Snr. Assistant Registrar, Students Record, Mr. Raymond Bentum Boison; Snr. Assistant Registrar, Planning, Mr. Prince Asiedu; Assistant Registrar, Records, Mr. Charles Ato Hinson, and Assistant Registrar, Students Records, Mr. Titus Nii Aryeetey, who brought insight and perspective to the above-mentioned topics. Other dignitaries present were the Director of ICT, Dr. Ephrem Kwaa Aidoo and Head of Employee Relations, Ms. Patricia Kaitoo.
