Biography
Brief Profile
Professor Emmanuel Erastus Yamoah is an Associate Professor of Business Administration at the Department of Management Sciences, University of Education, Winneba (UEW). With 18 years of teaching experience, he specializes in Human Resource Management, Marketing, Management Education, and Educational Administration. His academic foundation began at Accra Academy, where he represented his school and won first prize in Ghana in the ECOWAS Essay Competition, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ECOWAS. His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Business Administration, an MBA in Marketing, a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration specializing in Human Resource Management.
Before his academic career, Prof. Yamoah gained valuable industry experience. He managed investment portfolios as an assistant manager at the Industrial and General Insurance Head Office in Accra. He assisted in preparing strategic business plans and conducted research as an Assistant Consultant at the Business Development Consulting Group, Accra. His diverse background also includes serving as the Hall Administrator at the Casely Hayford Hall, University of Cape Coast (UCC).
Prof. Yamoah began his university teaching at Valley View University in 2007, where he was appointed lecturer and subsequently promoted to senior lecturer in 2013. In 2016, he joined the University of Education, Winneba, serving as a Senior Lecturer from 2016 to 2024, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2024. During his tenure at UEW, he has taken on several key roles, including Acting Head of the Department of Applied Finance and Policy Management (2019–2020), Graduate Coordinator, Department of Management Sciences (2022–2023), and currently, Vice Dean, School of Business (2023–Present). In his role as Vice Dean, he actively supports the Dean in managing academic programmes, examinations, curriculum development, and the overall administrative oversight of the faculty.
Since 2019, Prof. Yamoah has also been an adjunct lecturer at the Department of Educational Administration and Management, where he teaches doctoral courses and supervises Ph.D. and MPhil. theses. Additionally, he previously served as an adjunct assistant professor at Andrews University, USA (Master of International Development Administration programme), Adventist University of the Philippines (Ph.D. in C ommerce programme), and the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies, Philippines (Ph.D. in Education programme).
Prof. Yamoah has authored over 42 scholarly articles (https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C5&q=Emmanuel+Erastus+Yamoah&oq=E) in reputable journals, including Business, Management and Economics Engineering, Management Research and Practice, Future Business Journal, International Review of Management and Marketing, Organization Development Journal, European Journal of Contemporary Education, International Journal of Business and Emerging Markets, and The Qualitative Report, all indexed in either Scopus or Web of Science or both. He has also authored five (5) textbooks, including Essentials of Strategic Management and five (5) Conference papers. His commitment to scholarly excellence extends to serving on the Editorial Board of Budapest University of Economics and Business Prosperitas Journal (https://prosperitas.uni-bge.hu/editorial-board). He regularly reviews for Scopus-indexed journals such as the International Journal of Business Innovation and Research, Business: Theory and Practice, International Journal of Human Factors and Ergonomics, and the International Journal of Technology Marketing.
Prof. Yamoah teaches various courses, including Human Resource Management and Regulation in Education, Strategic Human Resource Management, International Human Resource Management, Managing Organizational Change, E-Business, Applied Business Research Methods, and Strategic Management. He has successfully supervised one (1) Ph.D. thesis as a Principal Supervisor, co-supervised four (4) doctoral theses, and guided five (5) MPhil theses and 31 MBA dissertations. Beyond the classroom, he mentors students and faculty. He has been a facilitator for several training workshops and has delivered insightful talks on employee productivity, work-life balance, work ethics, career planning, CV preparation, personal branding, entrepreneurship, and organizational leadership.
His dedication to the university is further demonstrated by his service on several key committees at the University of Education, Winneba, including the Institutional Ethical Review Board, the Academic Board, the Academic Planning Committee, and the School of Business PhD/DBA Programme Development Committee. In addition to his committee roles, he is actively involved in curriculum design for Ph.D., MPhil, and MBA programmes. As an external examiner, he has assessed PhD and MPhil theses in the areas of Management Education, Educational Leadership, and Business Administration. He also contributes to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (2019, 2023) and has served as an internal assessor at UEW and as an external assessor at other institutions on faculty promotions.
Prof. Yamoah holds memberships in the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management, Ghana (since 2018), where he currently serves as the Vice President of the Winneba Chapter, and the International Society for Development and Sustainability, Japan (since 2016). His commitment to community service is evident in his role as Chair of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Oriens Complex School, Adenta, Accra (2015–2018), facilitating training for the Ghana Immigration Service, and appearing on Angel Television’s May Day Programme.
His accolades include the AD Scientific Index 2025 ranking (ranked among the top 20 researchers at UEW, and top 1000 in Ghana), the Vice Chancellor’s Special Award for Excellence in Teaching and Research (Valley View University, 2014), and the Best Business Lecturer Award (2012). His win in the ECOWAS Essay Competition remains a proud milestone in his journey.
