2026 Ghana Geographers Association Annual Conference
The Ghana Geographers Association (GGA) announces its 2026 Annual Conference, bringing together scholars, researchers, policymakers, development practitioners, students, industry professionals and other stakeholders to engage in critical discussions on Africa’s changing environmental, social and development landscape.
Theme
Africa in Transition: Climate Change, Urban Growth and the Quest for Healthy and Sustainable Living
As Africa continues to experience rapid urbanisation, climate variability, demographic shifts and increasing environmental pressures, the continent faces both emerging opportunities and complex sustainability challenges.
The conference will provide a multidisciplinary platform for examining climate resilience, sustainable urban development, environmental governance, geospatial technologies, public health and inclusive policy responses shaping Africa’s future.
Experts and participants from academia, government, civil society, industry and development institutions will engage in knowledge sharing and discussions aimed at advancing resilient, healthy and sustainable communities across the continent.
