Adam Awini (PhD) is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Special Education, Faculty of Applied Behavioural Sciences in Education of the University of the Education, Winneba. Awini is a facilitator for both prospective teachers and practicing ones in the education of learners with visual impairment at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He also trains students pursuing a programme in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies. He offers part-time teaching to students in other departments of the university who run courses on differentiated inclusive strategies for effective learning and inclusive school-based enquiry. Awini provides academic and professional leadership and mentorship to diverse students in academic and social matters.
Areas of expertise
Awini has expertise in braille literacy, mobility techniques for persons who are blind, curriculum and pedagogical skills for the visually impaired and curriculum differentiation for effective inclusive education practices.
