Prof. Ebeli, Eva Akosua
Biography
Eva Ebeli is a retired Associate Professor in the Department of Music Education, University of Education, Winneba. She holds Ph.D and MPhil Music degrees from the University of Education, Winneba and University of Ghana, Legon respectively. She has an ardent interest in promoting the study of Indigenous music and atƐntƐben instrument in Ghanian Schools as well as the integration of African music in the education of the girl child. Her passion for the girl child education propelled her to participate in the project “Ghana Wins: Ghana Institute for the Future and Teaching and Education programme.” (GIFTED), a collaboration between New York University, University of Education, Winneba and Mujeres Por Africa Foundation, Spain that saw a significant reduction of teenage pregnancy in Basic Schools in Winneba Municipality. She has also published educational materials in Learning and Teaching Indigenous Dances in Schools as well as composing for the atƐntƐben instrument for use in Schools. Eva is an executive member of Ghana Music Teachers Association (GMTA) and Pan African Society of Musical Arts Education (PASMAE).
