Biography

Richardson Addai-Mununkum is a Senior Lecturer of Curriculum and Pedagogy in the Department of Educational Foundations, University of Education, Winneba Ghana. He is an African Humanities Program Postdoctoral Fellow and a 2023 Carnegie Corporation of New York Fellow. He holds Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, and is also an alumnus of University of Cape Coast, Ghana, from where he graduated with Bachelor of Education and Master of Arts degrees. Richardson has worked in various capacities as a teacher, researcher, and teacher educator in Ghana and in the USA. In 2023, Dr. Addai-Mununkum was a visiting scholar at Rhodes University, Makanda, South Africa. Richardson has worked as a curriculum research consultant for the Global School Pilot Project in New York, and a curriculum development consultant for other agencies in Malawi and USA. He is a key part of ongoing educational and curricula reforms in Ghana, serving on various technical committees and facilitating workshops. Richardson has won several awards including Peer Mentorship Award by the Graduate School of University of Wisconsin, Madison, Outstanding Volunteer Award, and Valedictorian at International Student Services graduation. He is the author of one book, and several articles in peer-reviewed journals. His recent co-authored monograph published by Routledge is entitled: Religious Education in Malawi and Ghana: Perspectives on religious misrepresentation and misclusion. Dr. Addai-Mununkum is a member of the African Studies Association, American Educational Research Association, and the African Humanities Association. He is a reviewer for top-tier journals in his field and an external examiner/assessor to Universities across Africa. Presently, he is working on a research project that will culminate in his second monograph anticipated for publication in 2024.
