COMPETITION – CALL FOR DESIGNS

ANNIVERSARY LOGO

The University of Education, Winneba will celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary in September 2017. The landmark year offers the opportunity for the university to reflect on its past and to strategise for the years ahead. The university invites the entire University community to submit designs for a LOGO to be used during the anniversary celebrations.

Theme: "Sustaining Quality Education in Ghana through Effective Teacher Education: The Role of UEW"

The following should guide the designer:

  • the colours to be used are red, blue and white
  • the UEW crest must be placed prominently
  • the figure ‘25’ or words ‘twenty-fifth’ must be included
  • the inscription ‘1992-2017’ must be shown
  • the inscription ‘University of Education, Winneba’ or ‘UEW’ must be shown

A copy of the final design should be

  • printed on an A3 paper and also
  • made available in high resolution JPEG and placed on a CD.

The two formats should be placed in an envelope and submitted to:

The deadline for submission is 24th May, 2017. The winning design will be announced on  31st May, 2017. The winning design will be given an amount of One Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHȼ1000.00).

The University of Education, Winneba will celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary in September 2017. The landmark year offers the opportunity for the university to reflect on its past and to strategise for the years ahead. The university invites the entire University community to submit designs for a CLOTH to be used during the anniversary celebrations.

The following should guide the designer:

  • the colours to be used are red, blue and white
  • the UEW crest must be placed prominently
  • the figure ‘25’ or words ‘twenty-fifth’ must be included
  • the inscription ‘1992-2017’ must be shown
  • the inscription ‘University of Education, Winneba’ or ‘UEW’ must be shown
  • the word “silver Jubilee” should be represented on the cloth.

A copy of the final design should be

  • printed on an A3 paper and also
  • made available in high resolution JPEG and placed on a CD.

UEW AT 25

JINGLE COMPETITION

The University of Education, Winneba invites interested persons to compose a Jingle to create awareness about the celebration of its 25th Anniversary of the University of Education, Winneba in 2017. The contest is open to all interested persons from the University Community.

Theme: "Sustaining Quality Education in Ghana through Effective Teacher Education: The Role of UEW"

GUIDELINES

The Jingle must be an original composition and should not infringe on any existing copyright or any other intellectual property rights.

The lyrics may be in English or mixed with any Ghanaian language

The jingle should run from 2 to a maximum of 3 minutes inclusive of intro-and extro music.

The composer has the discretion to use any musical instrument as accompaniment. Acappella rendition is not allowed

SELECTION

All entries for the Jingle competition will be screened by a board of Judges who will decide on the winner in a strict blind judging process based on the following:

  • Relevance to the theme of the 25th Anniversary
  • Relevance to the motto of UEW
  • Originality
  • Melody (form and style, structure and chord progression, rhythm, popular appeal)
  • Lyrics (consistency and organization, choice of words, educational substance)

Decision of the Board will be final and non-appealable.

Submission: The Final Recording should be placed on a CD and submitted to the Secretary of the 25th Planning Committee, Room 112, Pecku Building Annex.
