ILWGAWS SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR MPHIL IN GEOGRAPHY EDUCATION STUDENTS

The ILWGAWS Project through the support of Global Centre on Biodiversity for Climate (GCBC), Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and UKAID in collaboration with the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) seeks to provide three (3) scholarships for the 2024/2025 Academic Year Applicants into MPHIL in Geography Education at the Department of Geography, UEW. 

Requirements for the Scholarship

Applicants must:

  • hold a bachelor's degree in Geography, Planning, Environment, Social Studies and other related programmes;
  • have CGPA of 2.9 and above;
  • come from the Western Region of Ghana or be familiar with the ecosystem of the region;
  • be willing to write a thesis on Greater Amanzule Wetland Systems; and
  • pass an interview to be conducted by the University.  

Prospective applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Application letter
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Certificates
  • Transcripts
  • Proposal related to hydrological systems, climate change, spatial planning, ecosystem services, carbon offset, community resource management, policy evaluation, etc. [Maximum 5 pages including references]
  • Academic Recommendation letter

Scholarship Duration

Two (2) Years
