Dr. Ernest Acheampong of UEW Appointed to UNESCO Advisory Committee on Sports, Peace, and Environment

Dr. Ernest Yeboah Acheampong of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has been appointed as a member of the prestigious UNESCO Chair in Sport for Development, Peace, and the Environment (SDPE) Advisory Committee.  

This appointment underscores Dr. Acheampong's expertise and commitment to advancing the role of sports in fostering global peace, sustainable development, and environmental stewardship.

The Advisory Committee, which includes representatives from various regions and sectors, plays a crucial role in shaping the Chair's strategic actions and initiatives. Dr. Acheampong’s involvement is set to bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the committee, furthering the impact of the Chair’s work on a global scale.

Dr. Acheampong's two-year mandate on the Advisory Committee will involve active participation in discussions, strategy formulation, and collaboration with other members. The first official meeting is scheduled for August 20, 2024, marking the beginning of what promises to be a productive and impactful tenure.
