Eight scholars from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have secured a prestigious UNESCO Ghana grant to adapt and implement the Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Curriculum within Ghana’s teacher education system.

Nine scholars from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have been awarded a UNESCO Ghana grant to undertake a project that seeks to enhance local appreciation, participation and sustainability of historic forts and castles in Ghana with Cape Coast and Elmina Castles as the focus of study.

On Thursday, 18th September, 2025, the forecourt of the Students Centre at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) was transformed into a vibrant art space as three final-year students of the Department of Art Education unveiled a monumental 46-foot installation titled “Waste to Worth.”

The outdoor display which drew faculty, curators, students and visitors, explored themes of environmental sustainability and cultural identity while challenging prevailing attitudes towards waste.
