"I expect some calmness and stability," remarked Hon. Dr. Adutwum, addressing the University Council. "You've gone through some tumultuous times, and I think at this point we are seeing some semblance of peace and stability and it should continue that way."

He emphasised the importance of overcoming individual differences and petty squabbles, urging the Council to unite for the greater good of the university. "You are there to serve the vision and mission of the university," he added. "Let's respect our oath of secrecy and do everything that will ensure that UEW becomes that great institution I want it to be."

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Ministry of Education, Accra, on Monday, 12th February, 2024.

Nana Ofori Ansah I, in his acceptance remarks, expressed gratitude to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum for the confidence reposed in the new Council. "Together with the Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor, the Acting Registrar, as well as other identifiable groups within the university, we will work assiduously to ensure a lasting peace and progress at UEW," he affirmed.

Reflecting on past efforts to foster reconciliation, Nana Ofori Ansah I acknowledged the challenges ahead but remained optimistic about the council's ability to overcome them. "The task we face is enormous," he acknowledged. "So, get ready for hard work and at times difficult decision-making. I'm very sure that with a common sense of purpose and unity, we shall surmount every obstacle and smile at the storm."

The Council's commitment to inclusivity and community engagement was underscored by Hon. Adutwum's call to prioritise outreach and support for local communities. "At the end of the day, let us make sure we’re also committed to the community in which we operate," he urged. "Don't wait till they get to the university to give the King or Chief some scholarships to bring some students. Where is he going to find the children? So, do outreach, and get those children to come there."
