It was designed to brand “Sawie”, a locally produced chewing sponge, an organic product with medicinal value. The students were to present a well-designed logo and a beautiful package indicating the natural mint flavour in the product.

The rationale for the award is to recognise and celebrate talented Graphic Design students in the tertiary institutions of Ghana and to inspire them to go into specialised fields to develop their skills further.

The competition was coordinated by the Ag. Head of the Department of Graphic Design, UEW, Dr. Joseph Essuman and supported by Dr. Ebenezer Acquah, Mr. Stephen Osei Akyiaw, Mr. Emmanuel Ebo Amissah, and Ms. Mariam Musa.
