ASGHAL Donates to CoLANGE
The Association of Students of Ghanaian Languages (ASGHAL) of the Faculty of Ghanaian Languages Education (FGLE), College of Languages Education (CoLANG), Ajumako Campus, University of Education Winneba (UEW), donated six rooms of canopies to the College on Friday, 16th June, 2023.
Mr. Obed Buabeng, the president of ASGHAL, stated that the donation was in line with the association's goal of assisting the College's development strategy. He further stated that ASGHAL was dedicated to improving the College's physical surroundings. He hoped the kind gesture would tremendously motivate other campus organisations, past and present leaders, alumni, and private businesses and institutions to similarly aid the College.
Mr. Buabeng commended the Chief Patron of ASGHAL and concurrent Dean of FGLE, Prof. Samuel Alhassan Issah, for his assistance in undertaking initiatives, including the donation of canopies. He also expressed gratitude to the various heads of department for their leadership and counsel.
The ASGHAL President acknowledged the importance of management's support and sensitivity to the needs of students during the presentation of the items. He, however, urged Management to act swiftly to ensure the availability of certain basic amenities to make life more comfortable for students.
On receiving the donation, the Principal of CoLANG, Prof. Dominic Kwaku Danso Mensah, and his team congratulated ASGHAL for their timely consideration in such an endeavour. He said that by making such a gesture, the College would no longer be overly dependent on outside sources for furniture and canopies for special occasions.
The Dean of FGLE, Prof. Samuel Alhassan Issah, welcomed the effort and urged the students to keep up the good work even after finishing their degrees. He continued by saying that the donation was essential to addressing one of the Faculty's pressing needs.
