Prof. Mereku, Cosmas Worlanyo Kofi
Biography
Cosmas Worlanyo Kofi Mereku is an Associate Professor currently at the Department of Music Education, University of Education, Winneba who holds a PhD in Music Theory & Composition from Leeds University, England, UK, and Masters in Music Education from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. He was a recipient of Fulbright Hays Scholarship (1988) and Overseas Research Studentship Award [ORS] (1993). He teaches in addition to composition, research methods to MPhil and Doctoral postgraduate students in ethnomusicology, performance, composition and music education. Cosmas has been the Team Lead for the Music Group for both pre-tertiary (NaCCA) and tertiary (T-TEL) engaged currently in educational reforms. He has several musical works to his credit. He is a GTEC Music Consultant. He was the Secretary General for GMTA, and also became the 1st Vice President of PASMAE-West Africa. He had a 2005-UEW-Recognition for excellent and illustrious career as an Educationist, Musician and Administrator.
