I.T. Professional Certificate Short Courses - 2025
The Department of ICT Education, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), is excited to announce its 2025 Vacation Short Certificate Courses designed for students, professionals, educators, and the general public looking to upgrade their digital skills.
In response to the growing global demand for digital competencies (World Economic Forum, 2023; ITU, 2023), these programs aim to bridge digital skill gaps and provide hands-on training in high-demand areas of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

- Intended/Expected Outcomes
The goal of the short courses is to prepare learners to acquire knowledge and skills in on-demand and emerging topics in IT. Participants who have successfully completed will be able to:
- impact their current organization or businesses with the acquired skills
- train the teaming youth with emerging IT skills that are relevant in the 21st century
- develop innovative software products that are market-driven and target-oriented
- set-up businesses in critical areas based on specialisation and demand
- Admission / Entry Requirement
- Educational Background: All the short courses require at least a WASSCE/SSSCE/BECE certificate or its equivalent. Learners are to select the short courses based on their interest and the level of their IT proficiency.
- Prerequisite Knowledge: Learners need basic understanding of a computer system. In addition, learners should examine their IT proficiency and the need before selecting a short course.
