Biography
Kweku Esia-Donkoh, currently a Senior Lecturer in Educational Administration at the Department of Educational Foundations (DEF) in the School of Education and Life-Long Learning (SELLL), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Ghana, obtained his M.Phil. Educational Administration, B.Ed. Educational Psychology, Diploma (Economics), from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Development from the Institute of Commercial Management, UK, Certificate in Making Teacher Education Relevant for 21st Century Africa from the Teacher Education in Sub-Saharan Africa (TESSA), and a Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Markerting from the Academy of Business Administration, Accra, Ghana. He has also undertaken several short courses in Managerial Leadership and Administration, Human Resource Management. He is awaiting graduation with the award of a PhD in Educational Leadership from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He has over twenty-two years of teaching experience at Ghana's secondary and tertiary education levels. Kweku Esia-Donkoh teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and these include Trends in Education and School Management in Ghana, School Administration and Management, Principles and Practice of Teaching, 21st Century Teaching Pedagogies, Leadership and Human Resource Development in Education, and Supervision of Instruction in Basic Education. He also supervises Master of Philosophy and Master of Education theses and dissertations. Before joining the Faculty in 2008, Kweku Esia-Donkoh he worked as an Assistant Registrar (2006-2008) at the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs of UEW. Kweku Esia-Donkoh has served on many Committees and has held leadership positions in different capacities, including Examination Officer, Graduate Co-ordinator, and Head of Department. He is now the Acting Head of the Department of Internship and Supported Teaching in School (ISTS) at the Institute for Teacher Education and Continuing Professional Development (ITECPD), University of Education, Winneba. Kweku Esia-Donkoh has, to his credit, over thirty published articles in peer-reviewed journals and he has attended several conferences (both local and international). He is an author of Administration and Management in Schools and co-authored two other books titled Human Resource Management: Theory and Practice in Education and Administration and Management of Pre-tertiary Education in Ghana. Kweku Esia-Donkoh has also been involved in the ongoing Teacher Education Reforms in Ghana, contributing to writing Pedagogy Courses in the Curriculum, Course Manuals, and Professional Development Manuals.
