UEW Postgraduate Student Donates Equipment to Ajumako Campus

A first-year postgraduate student of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Mr. Emmanuel Mensah, has donated a brand-new projector and six ceiling fans to the College of Languages Education at the Ajumako Campus to support academic work.
The donation, made on Tuesday, 6th May 2025, was part of a student-led initiative aimed at enhancing the teaching and learning environment within the College. Mr. Mensah, who led the delegation of postgraduate students, said the gesture was borne out of a desire to contribute meaningfully to the growth and academic advancement of the College.

He stated that the donated items aim to alleviate some of the infrastructural challenges that lecturers and students encounter during academic sessions. "As students, we experience the challenges first-hand. This is our way of giving back and supporting efforts to improve teaching and learning," he said.
The items were received on behalf of the College by a team of senior administrators and faculty members, including Prof. Samuel Alhassan Issah, Dean of the Faculty of Ghanaian Languages Education (FGLE); Prof. Regina Oforiwaa Caesar, Vice-Dean of Student Affairs; Mr. Francis Kwantwi Barima, Acting College Registrar; Dr. Yvonne A. A. Ollennu, Graduate Coordinator and Mr. Enoch Mensah Andoh, Faculty Officer.

Prof. Alhassan Issah expressed deep appreciation for the donation and described it as a timely and thoughtful contribution. He emphasised the importance of such gestures in addressing the logistical needs of the College and called on other individuals and organisations to emulate the example set by Mr. Mensah and his colleagues.
"We are grateful for this donation. It reflects a spirit of community and a shared responsibility towards the growth of the College. However, much more is still needed. I want to take this opportunity to appeal to philanthropists, benevolent organisations and our alumni to come on board and support in the provision of teaching and learning aids," Prof. Issah said.
The College of Languages Education, located at UEW's Ajumako Campus, continues to play a pivotal role in the promotion and development of languages and culture through education, research and community engagement.
