Deeper Life Pledges to Donate Two Giant LED Screens to UEW
Pastor Dr. Edward Kofi Tumsiah, the National Overseer of Deeper Life Bible Church, Ghana, has pledged to donate two giant LED screens to the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) to enhance visibility and participation during major university events.
The announcement, made during the University's first Interdenominational and Thanksgiving Service for the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre on Sunday, 31st May, 2026, was met with excitement from congregants.
Pastor Dr. Tumsiah, an alumnus of UEW, disclosed that the screens would be procured and delivered to UEW within two weeks with support from Deeper Life Bible Church, Ghana.
Describing the University as the best institution he has encountered despite his extensive travels and ministry engagements worldwide, Pastor Dr. Tumsiah attributed his conviction to the transformative education and values he received at his time as a student.
"I do not think there is any better university than this university. I have gone to a lot of places to preach but for now and for the rest of the millennium, this is the best university because of what I got here and what the Lord, by His grace, has made me," he asserted.
Delivering a sermon on the theme, "Why Would Anyone Want to be Holy?", Pastor Dr. Tumsiah challenged students, staff and worshippers to embrace holiness as a lifelong pursuit rooted in God's nature and purpose for humanity.
He explained that holiness means being set apart for God, sanctified, pure in heart and motive, inwardly cleansed and wholly devoted to righteous living. According to him, holiness is not reserved for a select group of believers but is God's expectation for all people regardless of age, profession or social standing.
The renowned preacher emphasised that holy living is made possible through the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus Christ and urged Christians to demonstrate holiness through forgiveness, godly character and sexual purity.
Addressing the population of over 2,000 students at the service, he warned against sexual immorality, describing it as a major threat to academic success, personal development and future aspirations. He encouraged students to maintain moral discipline and avoid relationships and behaviours that could derail their destinies.
Pastor Dr. Tumsiah also urged students to uphold integrity in their academic pursuits, recounting personal experiences where he resisted examination malpractice despite strong temptation. He noted that faithfulness, honesty and obedience to God had contributed significantly to his achievements in life and ministry.
"There is dignity in holiness, there is promotion in holiness, there is prosperity in holiness and above all, there is heaven in holiness," he stated, encouraging the congregation to pursue holy living as the pathway to both earthly fulfilment and eternal reward.
In her closing remarks, Prof. Esther Yeboah Danso-Wiredu, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of UEW, conveyed the goodwill of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual and Management to Pastor Dr. Tumsiah and Deeper Life Bible Church for the generous donation pledge. She commended the preacher for delivering a timely message and encouraged students to reflect on the call to holiness, particularly the need for inward transformation and sexual purity.
Prof. Esther Danso-Wiredu urged students to remain focused on their academic and personal development. She stressed that moral discipline and responsible decision-making are essential ingredients for success. She further assured worshippers that management would continue to improve facilities and infrastructure to support teaching, learning and student life on campus.
The service, moderated by Rev. Dr. Joseph Nana Annan, the University Chaplain, brought together management, staff, students, clergy and members of the university community in a spirit of thanksgiving, worship and renewed commitment to Christian values.
