Mr. Odoom, John

John Odoom is a phonologist who specializes in the study of the learning and learnability of speech sounds and their organization in speech words in languages. His research explores aspects of phonological learning using two approaches: descriptive analysis and theoretical modelling that incorporate elements of linguistic theory. Specifically, his research focuses on segmental and prosodic phonology, with an emphasis on segmental harmony or assimilation, including vowel nasality, vowel harmony, nasal and nasalisation, consonant-vowel assimilatory processes, onomastic phonology, child phonology, non-native phonology, and morphology-phonology interface among several others.
