Directives for Registration of Courses on the Student Information Portal for Continuing Students

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) announces that Registration for the 1st semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year has been activated for all continuing regular students. Students are urged to follow the laid-down directives as stipulated in this notice and the various student handbooks to ensure smooth and efficient operations for all stakeholders. Students are therefore strongly advised to familiarize themselves with the rules and regulations, particularly those related to payment of fees, registration, progression, and examinations, as adherence to these guidelines is crucial for a seamless registration process.

Registration Period and Guidelines

Registration Dates for Continuing Students:

  • Registration for regular full-time continuing students (undergraduate and postgraduate) has been activated and will run from 17th January 2025 to 3rd February 2025.
  • Dates for Freshers: Registration directives and details for freshers (Undergraduate and Post-Graduate) will be communicated after the completion of the Intensive Pre-Academic Orientation Programme for Freshers (IPOP) which is slated for the 22nd and 23rd of January, 2025.

Eligibility for Examinations:

  • Only students who successfully register for courses will be allowed to sit for Mid-Semester and End-of-Semester Examinations. This rule will be strictly enforced.

Fees Payment:

  • All students must pay 50% of their full fees before proceeding with registration, as per Section 1.5.1 of the Undergraduate Students' Handbook.

Self-Registration Requirement:

  • Students are responsible for registering their courses through the Student Information Portal (SIP). After registration, students must print their registration forms and have them endorsed by their Head of Department or Examinations Officer. Note that without the submission of Registration printouts at the Department, Registration shall be deemed as incomplete.

Confirmation of Studentship:

  • Studentship confirmation, renewable every semester, is dependent on full fee payment and successful course registration.

Level 400 Students – Internship Supervision:

  • Level 400 students are reminded that failure to pay fees and register for the semester will result in the non-supervision of their internship. At the close of the registration period, a list of eligible students will be generated and shared with ITECPD and Departments for supervision arrangements.

Penalties for Late Registration:

  • From 4th February 2025, penalties will apply for any student who registers late. Students are strongly encouraged to complete their registration within the stipulated period to avoid these penalties.

Support for Issues Encountered During Registration

  • All students are advised to download a copy of the OSIS II Student Manual on the University Website, abreast themselves with all necessary information, and follow due procedure in accessing their Student Portals and its related issues.

Should you encounter any issues in the process of registration you can contact your departmental administrators for assistance or the Faculty Accountant for issues relating to finance.

Important Notices

Probationary Status:

  • All students are reminded that they are on probation for the duration of their programme and are subject to dismissal for unsatisfactory academic performance or misconduct, as stipulated in their admission letters.
